TW Biological Services, LLC (TWBS) is a small business, located in Southern California. We have been performing environmental consulting services since 1994, specializing in Brown-headed Cowbird trapping, sensitive and endangered species biological surveys and monitoring, habitat restoration assessment and monitoring, environmental compliance, and bird banding. Threatened and endangered species experience includes presence/absence surveys and long-term monitoring projects for the Least Bell's Vireo, Southwestern Willow Flycatcher, and California Gnatcatcher. Other endangered and sensitive species survey experience includes Arroyo Toad, Southwestern Pond Turtle, Coast Horned Lizard, Coastal Cactus Wren, Burrowing Owl, and Desert Tortoise surveys.
We provide services to a wide range of private companies and federal, state, and local agencies including the The Nature Conservancy, USDA Forest Service, International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, City of Oceanside, City of San Diego, City of Fillmore, California Department of Transportation and subcontract work for several regional environmental consulting firms.
TWBS has over 27 years of experience in Brown-headed Cowbird management. We also conducted a 4-year research study on Brown-headed Cowbird demography and migration within San Diego County. The data from this study is currently being compiled for publication. We have constructed 43 cowbird traps currently in service for various projects in San Diego, Riverside, and Ventura Counties. These traps remain in excellent condition despite some of them approaching nearly 18 years in service.
